Episcopal Shield"The Gathering" : An Alternative Service of Holy Communion

One of the unique and new opportunities to worship at Christ the King is "The Gathering."

This worship is designed to blend traditional, ancient and contemporary
styles of worship for both adults and children. Our worship in "The Gathering"
is dynamic, fun and full of life. It appeals to both the best of the Episcopal tradition and the movement of the Holy Spirit in the life of the church.

"The Gathering" uses liturgical resources from the Book of Common Prayer as well as supplemental texts from Enriching our Worship. The congregation is actively involved in the worship with highly interactive prayers and corporate reflection on the scriptures rather than a formal sermon. The music is from contemporary as well as traditional hymnals characterized by energetic praise and quiet introspection.

The service is held in our parish hall, Sandefur Hall, on Sunday evenings beginning at 4:45 pm. Adults and children and youth of all ages are welcome. Refreshments and fellowship follow the service.

Come and join "The Gathering".

and we do not have much time
to gladden the hearts of those who travel with us;
so be quick to love and make haste to be kind.
